After the submission deadline is over, I continue to comment the choices of countries for the Eurovision. Here are more two.
Estonia and Ott Lepland
Start by talking of Estonia, which premiered in 1994 (with a poor rating, only the 24th place), won only once in 2001 and came 3rd in 2002 and in semifinal in 2009. Taking a few more in the Top 10 rankings, Estonia's participation has been based on poor results.Since the introduction of the semifinals, only qualified for the finals twice, and the last (in 2011) ended in the penultimate place. Valley that had never been in last place.
This year, Estonia will return to ballads and back to present a song performed in Estonian: thankfully not changed the lyrics into English.
The theme "Kuula" is interpreted by the singer 24 years, Lepland Ott, who managed a good representation in both the semifinal and final.
As for the runner, who won the 2nd semifinal and raised in the super final 33% of the votes, the singer Lenna, brought a song to a genre much like the winning song, was actually below the winning song.
Estonia will compete in the 2nd semifinal and will not have with most countries usually give it more points. Of the eight countries which tend to give more points since 2004, will only be in the same semifinal that Estonia, Lithuania, Sweden and Ukraine. But the countries that usually give it more points, Latvia and Finland, are not present in this semifinal.
Despite the good quality of interpretation and vocal quality of the singer, this is not a song that can really stand out from the competition. Therefore, the transition will very depend on the final and the performance of competitors.
Lituania and Danny Montell
Still in the Baltic countries, analyzing now the country with the lowest performance of the three: the one who has never won, and it has been two times in last place (the first of them, in the debut year in 1994, with zero points).
The choice of this year fell on the singer, 24 years old, Donny Montell, who interprets the song "Love is blind."
The choice came out of superfinal, after completion of the final who met the winners of the four semifinals.
The music does indeed have something mysterious (beyond the blindfold that actually helps create the mystery ... and fits the name) and it is still interesting that change of rhythm in the middle of the song.
As for the vocal qualities of the singer, this has a fairly good vocal apparatus, which can distinguish it from other singers. And the same for its interpretation so ... original. Although personally find it too ...original, it still show the imprint of the singer himself.
As for direct opponents, who were in superfinal both the second and the third placed, would also be interesting choices, as they pose different musical styles of the winner. They could have as much or more success than winning song.
Of the countries that voted in Lithuania, and who will be attending it in the same semifinal, are the United Kingdom, Ukraine, Georgia, Norway and Estonia.
Good luck for both countries!!!
