Today is the first test for all the favoritism that involves the Swedish music. After the rehearsal, began to appear more negative critiques to Loreen and her "Euphoria". |
It is today that takes place the 2nd semifinal of Eurovision. Here are my comments to the dress rehearsals that took place yesterday, for all the songs in contest in this semifinal:
Serbia: the typical balcanic ballad, without props or other excesses. In short, no Americanisms. The name of the country, along with the artist's name (much loved among eurofãs), will assure him a good place in the final. Personally, I found him participation in 2004 better than this year.
Macedonia: a music and a very original interpretation. In another country, the passage was more assured than in the case of Macedonia.
Netherlands: the image of the singer remains the same - a tone of simplicity and humility that fits well to music. The problem is the rest: those who see the performance notes that there is something lacking, particularly with regard to the other members that appear too late in the song.
Malta: it was clear that Malta has made the effort to get the most out of a song that is completely banal. But I have my serious doubts whether it is sufficient.
Belarus: I think it is already the 3rd version of the music that the group presents. It can happen to them the same as to Switzerland, but in this case Belarus has some neighbors to the east which could greatly help the country to be among the top 10.
Portugal: Filipa Sousa remained very faithful to the version presented at the Festival da Canção. It is a very rich music of feelings and emotions that can be very explored on stage. It has strong competition from powerful Balkan ballads. But the blend of Portuguese culture with a small balkan touch can help the passage of Portugal.
As the voice of Filipa, I repeat what I said is of great quality.
Ukraine: full of energy, is more than certain that will be among the most votes from the public. And I do not believe juries will penalize the point of taking Ukraine of final.
Bulgaria: a song entirely hampered by the posture too static of the singer. This song required dancers on stage and a suitable choreography.
Slovenia: the great voice of Eva Boto is unquestionable. The performance of the dancers is reasonably suited to the music - a good ranking is quite possible.
Croatia: a example of Portugal, we are in the presence of a ballad well sung by a singer with a great voice. A example of Portugal, has everything to please the judges and was notorious the effort to achieve a good performance.
Sweden: the big favorite, continues to cause much displeasure mainly due to a change of wardrobe. Still could not see clearly the role of the chorus in the song.
Georgia: a parody worthy of ... such music. Georgia could be the big surprise of the night to qualify due to vote of the diaspora who often receive (moreover in the absence of Armenia).
Turkey: a performance well prepared and relaxed, which should lead Turkey to the final again.
Estonia: Changes made by the singer to the original version, are raising pleased as much as displeasure. Unfortunately for Estonia, this semifinal is packed with many ballads from very successful countries in Eurovision (such as the Balkans).
Slovakia: is a genre of music that only appeals to a very restricted group of fans, but whose performance is very successful.
Norway: is one of the performances that remains truer to the original version. The passage is more than guaranteed, andTooji should cause one of the great moments of the night.
Bosnia and Herzegovina: a ballad very instrospectiv more highly concentrated in the voice and person of Maya Sar. Being Bosnia, the chances of passing to final are very high. But hardly have the same or more success than last year.
Lithuania: a song with several variations of rhythm, but with a very poor performance. The prospects are not encouraging anything.
The results of the Eurovision usually bring big and very unpleasant surprises.
According to the votes recorded here http://poll.pollcode.com/3pym , Sweden leads the preferences, and the remaining finalists are Serbia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Slovenia, Norway, Turkey, Malta, Estonia , Portugal and tied for last place of the finalists, the Netherlands, Croatia and Slovakia.
