Eurovision: walking to Baku 2012! (III)

Continuing with my analysis of the countries that have already selected theirrepresentatives for this year's Eurovision, I am going to talk about the selections of the two Mediterranean islands that are independent states: Cyprus and Malta.

CYPRUS AND IVI ADAMOU
The Cyprus is another case of a completely different choice from that made last year(perhaps because he had failed more than the 18th place in the semifinal).
This year's representative will be the young singer, 18 yearsIvi Adamou with the song "Lala Love."

It's a song facing the younger public, in a very danceable rhythm, which could well hear in any nightclub.
A good image and good choreography (ie without taking into account the competition that is not all known)would likely attract the votes of the young audience.
And in these respects, major improvements need to be done in relation to performance in the internal selection.
It is true that the stage where she performed was much lower than the stage of Eurovision, which implies that a good performance at the festival will involve a good choreography (which must be the same revised as root, with that look, is not suitable nothing to the music) and a stage with more people in addition to the singer.
As the style of music is unremarkable and does not bring anything new to the music scene, it becomes even more necessary to put on the choreography and the image.
However, comparing with the other two songs presented in the Contest by Ivi, this was certainly the best choice possible.

As for the vocal qualities of Ivinot being a bad voice to hear, I rate it only average.
But one thing we can be sureparticipating in the same semifinal than Greece, Cypruswill receive at least 12 points.

MALTA E KURT CALLEJA
Also Malta brings us a song for the younger public, played by Kurt Calleja and with the title "This Is the Night"more suggestive that this is impossible!
For me this is perhaps the most questionable selection. Like Cyprus selection, the music does not bring anything new to the music scene, but the main problem relates to the other songs in the competition, especially the 2nd ranked, Claudia Faniello with the song "Pure". True, it is a ballad, a genre of music not always very successfully in this Festival, but in this case should certainly please the jury, not even by the great singer's vocal talents. Indeedthe music was most voted by the jury, receiving more times the twelve points.
As for the music and the interpretation of the winner itself, for more than listen, I am alwaysunder the impression that something is missing ... is not complete.
Although Malta is the non-winner country more successful, the truth is, it can not tell much from the televoting by "affinity", perhaps what we should choose music that would please the judges of different countries in the competition.

The successful transition to the final live performance will depend on: whether it can live up to what you intend to convey with the music.
