Eurovision: walking to Baku 2012! (XV)

I will now speak of two neighboring countries, both geographically and in terms of votes. This tendency to vote between the two countries is already very close to the trend of voting between Greece and Cyprus.

Romania and Mandinga
I begin by talking about the country, both, is the longest in the contest. The participation of Romania in the beginning was not very lucky or very regular. Since the entry in 1993, returned to participate in 1998, 2000 and from 2002 has participated every year. Until 2004, there is only one highlight 9th place in 2002 and a 10th in 2003. Although in 2005 also have been in 3rd place, and have reached the first place in the semifinal, the best for me was the participation of Romania in 2010, where he also reached the 3rd place.
This year, this Eastern European country brings us a very lively music: indeed, the whole perfromance the national selection, broke in rhythm and energy from beginning to end. In addition to singing, all other elements of the band, with instruments and their interpretation constitute an added value that greatly enrich the whole interpretation.

As for opponents, despite being in 2nd place, I do not think the band Electric Fence was a good alternative. Regarding the 3rd place, the singer Cătălin Josan, with the song "Call My Name" could be a good alternative, despite being a very different genre of music winner.

Despite not having anything bad to point to the singer's vocal qualities, I think this is a song that will appeal much more to televoting than to juries. In fact, if the interpretation in the contest is at least equal to the the national selection, this song will easily be in the public memory in time to vote.
Of the countries that tend to give more points to Romania, will vote it in the same semifinal, Moldova, Spain (the more likely it is that the two countries give 12 points to Romania), Israel, Cyprus and Russia.

Moldova and Pasha Parnefi
I turn now to the next door neighbor, who debuted much later, only in 2005, just with a 6th place and, with the exception of 2008, never failed a final. In addition to the debut year, has again been in the Top 10 (precisely in the 10th place) in 2007.
Portugal is now the 2nd country that gave more points to Moldova.
Like Romania, Moldova also brings us this year a song full of rhythm, which is clearly visible mixture of traditional and modern rhythms.

With the title "Lăutar", this song also has a positive and very relaxed message. Might be better to change the dancers on stage, the clothes and a little in choreography, because in my view these are the weaknesses of this music.
However, the winning song wasn't the mosted voted by the public, who preferred the 2nd ranked, the singer Cristina Croitoru with the song "Fight for Love." Despite the vocal qualities of the singer (who also do not understand why only got four points from the jury), the winning song was in fact the best choice because it's time to vote will be easier in the public memory.

The Moldovan national final this year was also marked by the return of Geta Burlacu, 37 years old, who represented the country in 2008, and so far the only time the country was not the final. Perhaps because of this she has been among the songs that did not receive any points from the public, receiving only seven points from the jury.

Apart from Romania, in the semifinals this year, among the countries that tend to give more points to Moldova, will only Russia. But Moldova is a country with a significant diaspora in several European countries, and this is music that appeals to the public, may be a number of countries both East and West that could give hope to Moldova.

Good luck to both countries!
