Eurovision in Baku 2012! (IX)

Continue in this post my comments to the performances of the finalists. Then I will analyze the votes.



Despite all the surprises - many unexpected - at least the victory was well assigned.

Romania 12th place - 71 points: the big summer hit in the Eurovision this year, managed to stay in the first half of the ratings table. When I hear this song, I associate it with the music that Jessy Matador led in 2010 to represent France, of course that both the music and the performance of Jessy were better (although they have been precisely the same place).
It was a moment full of energy. Moreover, the energy was so much that all was not passed out by the vocalist Mandiga.
There were some parts of the song that Elena Ionescu seemed tired, and went too static for this song. But in fact, when it moved the pitch slipping. Between the pitch and the dance, the choice was complicated: perhaps this explains the discomfort of Elena during the performance.

Denmark 23 th place - 21 points: For me it was one more major negative surprises of the night. Soluna Samay was one of the great worthy of the final, despite being in 9th place in the semifinals, was a passage almost to the letter. The unique and different style very pleased me. The funny thing, and that may have affected the whole performance was the disposition of the different band members: with the drummer was craziness, but with the young of the cello was the despair! All right that with the battery was easier to express joy in this music, but the young man could well be less tragic.
And I felt sorry that during the music, Soluna had not removed his hat as he did before.
In short, a performance considered one of the candidates for a place at the TOP (away from the successes of 2010 and 2011), and I can not explain such a bad result, despite the vocal problems that persisted until the end of the song. While all the claims of Soluna to say that she believed would bring victory to Denmark, gave an image of convinced and arrogance did not sit well who must have heard it.

Greece 17th place - 64 points: For me the result of Greece was neither good nor bad - it was a shock to the extent that Greece brokes its remarkable record of being the only one taking part since there are semifinals, was until this year always in TOP10. The only record holder that remains is Azerbaijan, but it denuted much later - in 2008.
It was a performance that can be described with one word: sensuality. And in fact the name of the song invited to it.
In the semifinal I found it worse than Cyprus, but in the final was the opposite. I thought the choreography too exaggerated and a good part of it was pathetic. And Eleftheria was much helped by the lady who did voice choir.
I believe that without juries, Greece would have a better result, but do not know if it would keep the record.

Turkey 7th place - 112 points: Turkey was again in the Eurovision TOP, getting a much better place than most of the bets predicted. A performance well-prepared and relaxed. Again Can Bonomo showed his charisma and originality. The voice was acceptable.
This year's strong diaspora was not sufficient to assign 12 points to Turkey, which were only given by its neighbor, Azerbaijan (for a change!). The traditional countries that tend to give many points to Turkey (Germany, Belgium, Holland, Switzerland and France - the first time since 2004 that Turkey, being in the end not received 12 points from France), gave much less than usual, which proves that the juries in those countries were not in line with the wishes of the public, as often happens.

Spain 10th place - 97 points: nice voice and reasonable performance, perhaps overly tragic at times

Germany 8th place - 110 points: Another pleasant surprise of the night. Germany was one of my BIG5 favorite, and liked very much that he had stayed in TOP10. The simple performance worked well, able to focus attention on Roman Lob. It was a performance worthy of a pop concert that provided a pleasant time. And this time I did not think so unbearable he repeated so often "Sanding Still", as in the official videoclip.
But after so many favorites have been classified so badly, I am amazed about the good classification of Germany. Well, if it is true that the gay public vote massively in Eurovision, associated to young women who must also make a contribution at the time of voting, is explained some of the success of "Still Standing" (without removing quality from the performance Roman Lob).

Malta 21th place - 41 points: I say as many times as begin nedded: all the effort to turn a banal song with nothing special, in a serious candidate has brought good results. In general Kurt and his band were well. Unfortunately, as much as effort being made​​, the average quality of the music hardly  provide a top position to Malta.

Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia 13th place - 71 points: although I feel the music an interesting proposal, and recognize the vocal qualities of Kaliopi, not left to be surprised by the classification of Macedonia. The absence of much competition in the Balkans (with Slovenia out the final and the poor performance of Bosnia), the chances of a good place to Macedonia rose sharply.
As I said, music was very original and always showed a consistent Kaliopi, owner of a good vocal apparatus, although in times of agitation have left she very afflicted.
The mixture of rhythms could have been better achieved, but the whole was acceptable.

Ireland 19th place - 46 points: the exotic twins were there, but they left at home almost all the good things that led to Dusseldorf last year.
The "big crazzies" of the night, followed the line of last year, its right, but with a less original and charismatic music. This song more "serious" brought out of water (not the subject of the music was Waterline) the vocal problems of Jedward. The chorus was better than last year, but still left much to be desired.
Overall, the performance did not disappoint, but left much to be desired.

Serbia 3rd place - 214 points: Another of the big winners of the night, earned the bronze medal, which was not surprising because almost everyone put Željko Joksimović in TOP3 in the the final.
More Balkan than that was impossible. A good voice and an interesting ballad. I'm sorry to the huge legion of fans of Željko, but I can not see why so much excitement around this gentleman and this song.

Ukraine 15 place - 65 points: After the huge success of last year, Ukraine fell to mid-table. Gaitana again showed her charisma and strong and well-disposed personality.
However, the fact that represent Ukraine helped ther o achieve a classification reasonable in view of the weakness of the music.
It was a very pleasant moment that transmitted energy. All the background work, was one of the best in Eurovision this year.

Moldova 11th place - 81 points: the night of performances ended with a song well-disposed but, unlike the general opinion, the choreography for me ruined a song with a unique style and well-disposed.
Again, Moldova can thank the diaspora and the neighborhood so good classification.


As for the voting after the results coming out, the surprises continue. In addition to the bad results that I mentioned in the case of Scandinavian countries (Iceland, Norway and Denmark), to the surprise of many, the songs taken as the worst of this edition - Montenegro, San Marino and Georgia - were not in last place of the semifinals: far from it! San Marino got the amazing 14th place, Montenegro the no less amazing 15th place (in the latter case the music was pretty funny, but destroyed everything bad performance). Even Israel, which featured a song that was definitely not the kind who eurofans liked, finished in 13th place. These three countries have managed to stay ahead of Belgium which, despite the feeble music, was represented by the beautiful voice of Iris. I agree with who have said that Belgium continues to participate for sportsmanship.
And despite the vocal quality of Rona, the 2nd place to Albania in the semifinal for me it was unexpected.
As for Georgia, managed the prodigious 14th place, just three points from Portugal, and well ahead of Slovenia that was ... in 17th place! At least in Switzerland, managed to stay in 11th place on 7 points for the 10th ranked, Hungary.
These polls were even madness.

As for the final, the best moment for me was, of course, the succession of 12 points awarded to Sweden. Until the voting of Italy I kept the hope that Sweden obtained the record of all countries to vote on it. Still, it was great to see that all over Europe, from Russia to Spain, Iceland and Ireland surrendered to Loreen and her "Euphoria". And this time, despite not having broken the record for Alexander Rybak in 2009, the votes were much more concentrated in Sweden, who received 12 point more countries, including all its neighbors (which did not happen with Norway in 2009 ) and from other countries in 2009 have not allocated 12 points to Norway, like France, Belgium, Ireland, UK, Slovakia and Finland.

As for the runners, the nice ladies from Russia, I knew they would be the delirious in the televoting, but never thought it was also so voted by the jury as to the point of being in 2nd place. Despite the joy that music brought  and the whole message forwarded to the public, that we must never stop fighting regardless of our age, the truth is that this is primarily a music contest and good voices was penalized by the sympathy these ladies have caused. Obviously I'm not blaming them: they were not guilty of the votes the people gave to them.

As for the third place, all the sympathy that the singer and the country have in Europe, together with the existence of little good competition from Balkan neighboring, allowed that both from the Balkans and the countries where there a lot of serbian diaspora (such as Switzerland and Austria) Serbian was highly scored.

But I thought the voting too fast and without any emotions. There was the usual thriller or interaction between spokespersons and presenters. Still, the best spokesperson for me was Sarah Dawn Finer, who announced the swedish votes and that gave one of the most hilarious and well-disposed moments of the night, much better than in 2009.
Of course Mr. Lordi from Finland was not anything behind her, with all the characteristics he gave to the most voted by Finland.
And I have to make even a reference to the votes of Germany, announced by Anke Engelke, one of the co-presenters of last year's edition. Her assertion that we can have a good choice and good wishes for the journey of Azerbaijan, Europe is watching them, was a clear reference to all the political problems that were associated with this issue.

Beginning with the "forced" withdrawal of Armenia who did not feel that his company would be safe to move to the country who has great animosity, passing to the threats against the winner, Loreen, by her attitude that they did not please to the government, without forget the news come from journalists, members of delegations or simply foreign supporters were assaulted and abused, and of course, what I HERE said about the threats against the gay community who often watch live the Eurovision, which ended up destroying two sites on the contest.

Congratulations to Loreen for the performance, and also for having presented us with sentences like this "Human rights are violated in Azerbaijan Every Day. One Should not be silent about such things." Which was the answer she gave against the attacks made by members of azeri government after Loreen having met with human rights activists who by coincidence were opponents of the current government, which led to the request for the removal Sweden from final by violating a nonsensical and unfounded  rule (perhaps Azerbaijan was eliminating competition for achieve the 2nd consecutive win ...).

And now its finished this marathon of five months in which I was commenting the choices of each country and bringing other news that might arise.
For those who have asked me where I get so much information, my sources were WIKIPEDIA and the EUROVISION OFFICIAL SITE, and of course my personal opinion and everything I have seen in previous editions.
And it seems that readers adhere well to my work. Last Saturday (19th) on the eves of Eurovision starts, the total views of my blog urpassed a bit the 8000 views. Today at dawn surpassed 10,700 views!
At this time among the 10 most viewed posts ever, only two do not relate to the Eurovision. Of course, the most viewed of all is the message with I comment the choices of Sweden and Russia, which already exceeds the 300 views, but beware - here are only counted people who will go straight to the message by search engines, not who also saw the message after being on the blog.

For nearly two months the most popular words in the search engines and giving access to this blog was "Tooji". Has now been largely superseded by "Loreen euphoria". The second expression is "Loreen euphoria cover". Also the expression "eurovision 2012 Loreen" is among the 10 words that have more access to my blog for search engines.

Before starting the marathon comments on European football, I pause the introduction of so many posts on my blog (yes, I have life beyond this!!!) and for a while I talk about what is right in fashion: the sovereign debt crisis! As for Eurovision, if not anything extraordinary happens, I will be back in December when they start editing the choices for 2013. Until then, I leave the news that there are already 14 countries confirmed for the ESC2013: Albania, Armenia, Belarus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden (host) and Switzerland.

Eurovision in Baku 2012 (VIII): WE HAVE A WINNER!!!!

EUROPE: WE HAVE A WINNER! LOREEN WITH HER EUPHORIA WAS THE QUEEN OF THE SATURDAY NIGHT!!

Loreen was the queen of the night and razed all the competition - the public was nearly unanimous in giving the victory, more than just, to "Euphoria"

And is not that my predictions were right? The major threats to the victory of Loreen were Russia and Serbia!! But attention: I do not want to say that they deserved to be those threats.

I always tried to be impartial, but as I said HERE, 2nd place was very little for this true masterpiece. The Loreen had yesterday what she deserved: a landslide victory for a performance, that I only arrangement one way to describe it - perfect from beginning to end. Unfortunately, Sweden does not have many reasons to thank to Portugal, San Marino and specially Italy.

Being completely in love with this music and performance, I suffered a lot with the huge problems that Loreen suffered in the rehearsals, including the dress rehearsal where she choked on a snowflake in one of the most important moments in the music, and all the negative criticism that Loreen fell over, and even what shocked me most, the reaction to the fact that Loreen did not follow the official protocol proposed by the EBU to do a tour with members of the Azerbaijani government, opting instead to visit a shelter for women in need of various kinds of support. According to what she said if she had stayed in Morocco would be like her cousin 13 years, who is married to a man of 40. This did not fall very well in many stomachs, to the point of reaching emerging rumors of the possible elimination of Sweden from grand final. I only have one thing to say who was angry with this "rebel" attitude of Loreen: envy can not kill, but is bad for your health!

But back to the performance of Loreen: for me it was only in the final that Loreen of Melodifestivalen was back. The problem of hoarseness which for me was very visible in the semifinal (do not know how she got the 1st place in the semifinal), was practically solved, only noting the great effort that Loreen did at the end of the performance to get hit the hardest parts of music but that made ​​it very well.

The cameras were much better, and got along with the play of light managed to create more immersive environment that we wanted for this kind of music.

As for the voting, I am sorry that Loreen has not broken the record of Alexander Rybak in 2009 by Norway, in number of points (but it wasn't by a very significant margin - 15 points), since this time Loreen earned more 12 points for each country that Alexander Rybak (18 versus 16). Unfortunately, if there wasn't the voting from Italy, who was the only country that did not yield a single point to Sweden, Loreen would have joined the (small) list of countries that have points of all countries.

And as this post is becoming too big, I'll just leave my comments here to the first half of the finalists last night.

Opening ceremony: let's start for the beginning. The opening ceremony had its grace but it wasn't anything special. I liked the traditional dancers and dancers in black: they really showed the Azerbaijani culture. As for the small performance of the winners of last year, it left me with the idea that something else was missing: the performance was very poor.

And since I'm talking about the winners of last year, one being a presenter, I will talk about these three characters. Was notorious the lack of experience and professionalism of the presenters. I've never seen an announcement of the finalists so uninteresting, and his lack of at ease was evident, although they have improved from the semifinals to the finals.

United Kingdom 25th place - 12 points: the United Kigdom has given us a unique theme, a very classic style that transports viewers to the Eurovision from other times, but could have much more energy and liveliness. All the music was a very monotonous rhythm and melody.

As I said in the message where I commented the choice of the UK, i could not even predict the fate of Engelbert Humperdinck in the contest. Certainly not the public would like much, but in the case of juries could be another story. However, the English song almost did not please anyone, placing the UK second to last. Since 2008, the participation of the United Kingdom is a real roller coaster. Last (25th) in 2008, a creditable 5th place in 2009, again a last (25th) in 2010, a 11th place last year and again this year a bad result (second from bottom). It is no longer news to anyone that the BBC is doing all efforts to ensure that the UK can receive again the Eurovision. To me it seems to me that like to take a break between each good bet.

Hungary 24th place - 19 points: After the disappointment of last year with much favoritism around Kati Wolf, the participation of Compact Disc did not bring so many expectations for this country from east. It is a band with an interesting style that brought a song with one of the richest messages this year. Were enormous the progress of the singer since the national final and even from the rehearsals. However, it not surprise me: they were competent but nothing more.

I disagree with those who defend that Switzerland should have passed instead of Hungary, should have passed both.

Albania 5th place - 146 countries: the big surprise of the evening was really Albania. When it was announced that Rona Nishliu would represent Albania, almost all the fans put her music in the last places. However, after the official release of the video, opinions began to change dramatically. It is obvious that juries liked a lot of this music, and for the 5th place certainly that the public also voted a lot on this song.

Indeed some parts of the song could be too hysterical, but Rona managed to hang on and went right on pitch.

Being alone on stage, all her charisma was broadcast to the public, and overall performance was very successful.

Lithuania 14th place - 70 points: Another of the big surprises of this edition. Far from being the most favorite for eurofans, turned out to qualify in third place and finish mid-table. It was a curious song, but nothing that aroused much interest to me.

However, I recognize the effort that the singer has done to enrich this music. As much as I see from different perspectives, the singer's performance after having removed the blindfold, it seemed more of a comedian than a singer in a musical competition. But that, of course, brought a certain charisma to the music.

Bosnia and Herzegovina 18th place - 55 points: do not know if Maya Sar is religious, but may well thank all the saints and some more to be representing Bosnia, because if she were representing another country without the weight of votes that Bosnia exercises, it was race just to the last in the semifinal. It was one of my favorite songs of the Balkans (with Slovenia), but its performance disappointed me a lot. It is true that wasn't not very deep ballad, but the stage and the performance of Maya Sar were too simple and boring.

Russia 2nd place - 259 points: say what you want,  they were the Divas of the night! Although this is a music contest and despite vocal problems they had, especially in the final (we noted the fatigue of the group) was the more animated moment of the night! Since I couldn't also count with the animation of Austria, I contented myself with this group of women who fell into the good graces of the public and juries, to have been in 1st place in the semifinal and have achieved 2nd place in the final. I believe that if we had no Loreen, or if the only voting was based on the public vote, they could perfectly well have won the Eurovision.

Despite all the love that these ladies could convey, the truth is that this should be more than anything a music competition, and there were better voices that were much penalized because of this group. And face it: if they were to represent another country with less power to influence the vote, probably never would come out of the semifinal.

Iceland 20th place - 46 points: For me it was one of the negative surprise of the night. Iceland was named one of the strong candidates to victory and was among my favorites. The performance was superb and worthy of a soundtrack for a movie.

I thought that the criticism about the lack of charisma of Greta Salome and the low quality of their performance exaggerated. Perhaps a lack of emotion of Jón Josep must have hurt the chances of Iceland.

Deserved more than 20th place.

Cyprus 16th place - 65 points: another country considered one of the favorites to win, and in the top 10 of the OGAE associations, finished mid-table.

I found Ivi more comfortable and her voice was more in keeping with the tone of the music than in the semifinal. It was more pleasant to hear, but vocal problems remained. So, certainly received more public support than the jury.

France 22 place - 21 points: another negative surprise of the night, given that France was also highly scored by OGAEs. Congratulations Anggun to the beautiful voice and charisma that remained throughout the song. Unfortunately, it was noted that she was nervous and shaky voice was in very important parts of music.

And a really negative note to the voices of the chorus: for almost all the music seemed robotic voices. And I ended up not liking the participation of the gymnasts.

Italy 9th place - 101 points: Another disappointment, though not as big as the previous ones, although for me that Italy deserved a place worse than what it got. It was the 2nd most voted by OGAEs and had everything to please the judges and to please more to pubic than the music that brought Italy last year. Nina Zilli and the choir were much better than in the rehearsals. They managed to convey the message of the song. But everything else was awful: they could have used the background image and the rest of the stage to enrich with various elements as the song allowed it.

Estonia 6th place - 120 points: Another surprise of the night, in this case by positive. Estonia could thus the revenge for the injustice suffered last year. Otto had a near-perfect pitch. A example of Albania was a involving song. One downside to the lady who did voice choir.

Nothing special to add.

Norway 26th place - 7 points: the biggest negative surprise of the night. Tooji was very punctuated by OGAEs and highly regarded as a strong contender for the TOP5 by most bookmakers. I can not understand the last place in the final and also the 10th place in the semifinal. Indeed, in the semifinal he had the same points as Bulgaria (two performances that can never match), and Tooji only qualified thanks to tiebreakers.

I think that the constant comparison with Eric Saade who represented Sweden last year (compared this exaggerated), must have taken both the juries and the public to penalize what they deemed to be an imitation of Eric. Still does not justify the low result obtained by Norway: is that not the neighbors of Scandinavia helped him - only Iceland, Sweden and the Netherlands have given points to Norway.

I confess that before the results of voting occurred to me that could happen to Tooji the same happened to Alexey Vorobyov, the Russian representative last year: 7th place in the televoting, but last place in the courts. But I see that the Norwegian case was much worse.

The low result is due almost certainly to juries, but I'm eager to see what place was in the televoting.

Azerbaijan 4th place - 150 points: for me one of the big positive surprises of the night. Since the official music video you could see that Sabina owns a great voice and great beauty. And last night did not disappoint anyone. All other elements were also on stage as well.

Performance very charismatic and engaging, with a final apotheotic but, unlike others, was not exaggerated.

Deserved 4th place (even deserved more), and do not believe that was favored to be the host country: there have been enough cases of host countries whose songs are forgotten (almost) at the bottom of the table.

Eurovisão em Baku 2012! (VI)

Continuam nesta mensagem os meus comentários às prestações dos finalistas. Depois irei analisar as votações, com destaque para a votação portuguesa.

Apesar de todas as surpresas - muitas delas inesperadas - pelo menos a vitória foi bem atribuída.

ESTA É A 100ª MENSAGEM QUE POSTO NESTE BLOG! E que melhor assunto para tratar na 100ª mensagem do que a vitória da Loreen ontem à noite na final da Eurovisão!!!

Mas vou acabar de comentar os finalistas de ontem:

Roménia 12º lugar - 71 pontos: o grande hit de Verão da Eurovisão deste ano, conseguiu ficar na primeira metade da tabela de classificações. Quando ouço esta música, associo-a à música que Jessy Matador levou em 2010 a representar a França, Claro que tanto a música como a performance de Jessy foram melhores (apesar de terem obtido precisamente o mesmo lugar).
Foi um momento cheio de energia. Aliás, a energia era tanta que não foi toda transmitida para fora pela vocalista dos Mandiga.
Houve algumas partes da música em que Elena Ionescu parecia estar cansada, e continuou demasiado estática para esta canção. Mas de facto, quando se mexia a afinação descarrilava. Entre a afinação e a dança, a escolha era complicada: talvez isso explique o desconforto de Elena durante a performance.

Dinamarca 23º lugar - 21 pontos: para mim foi mais uma das grandes surpresas negativas da noite. Soluna Samay foi uma das grandes merecedoras da final, apesar de ter ficado em 9º lugar na semifinal: foi uma passagem quase à risca. O estilo bem original e diferente agradou-me muito. O mais engraçado, e que talvez tenha prejudicado conjunto da performance foi a diferente disposição dos membros da banda: com a baterista era a loucura, mas com o jovem do violoncelo era o desespero! Tudo bem que com a bateria era mais fácil expressar alegria nesta música, mas a cara do jovem bem que poderia ser menos trágica.
E tive pena que durante a música a Soluna não tivesse tirado o chapéu como fez antes.
Em suma, uma prestação tida como uma das candidatas a um lugar cimeiro no TOP (longe dos sucessos de 2010 e 2011), e que não consigo explicar tão mau resultado, apesar dos problemas vocais que persistiram até ao final da música. Se bem que todas as afirmações de Soluna a dizer que acreditava que iria trazer a vitória para a Dinamarca, deu uma imagem de arrogante convencida  que não agradou nada a quem deve ter ouvido isso.

Grécia 17º lugar - 64 pontos: para mim o resultado da Grécia não foi nem bom nem mau - foi um choque na medida em que a Grécia quebrou o seu notável record de ser o único que, participando desde que existem semifinais, esteve até este ano sempre no TOP10. O único recordista que se mantém é o Azerbaijão, mas esse entrou muito mais tarde - 2008.
Foi uma prestação que pode ser descrita com uma palavra: sensualidade. E de facto o nome da música convidada a isso.
Na semifinal achei-a pior do que o Chipre, mas na final foi o contrário. Achei a coreografia demasiado exagerada e uma boa parte dela foi patética. E Eleftheria foi muito ajudada pela senhora que fez voz de coro.
Acredito que sem os júris, a Grécia teria um melhor resultado, mas não sei se iria manter o record.

Turquia 7º lugar - 112 pontos: a Turquia esteve de novo no TOP da Eurovisão, obtendo um lugar muito melhor do que a maioria das apostas previa. Uma performance bem disposta e descontraída. Mais uma vez Can Bonomo mostrou o seu carisma e originalidade. Quanto à voz esteve aceitável.
Este ano a forte diáspora não foi suficiente para atribuir 12 pontos à Turquia, que só foram dados pelo seu vizinho Azerbaijão (para variar!!!). Os tradicionais países que costumam dar pontos à Turquia (Alemanha, Bélgica, Holanda, Suíça e França - pela primeira vez desde 2004 que a Turquia, estando na final, não recebeu 12 pontos da França), deram muito menos do que o costume, o que comprova que os júris desses países não estiveram em sintonia com os votos do público, como geralmente acontece.

Espanha 10º lugar - 97 pontos: voz agradável e performance razoável, talvez excessivamente trágica em certos momentos.

Alemanha 8º lugar - 110 pontos: mais uma surpresa agradável da noite. A Alemanha era um dos meus favoritos dos BIG5, e gostei bastante que tivesse ficado no TOP10. A performance simples funcionou bem, conseguindo concentrar as atenções em Roman Lob. Foi uma prestação digna de um concerto pop que proporcionou um momento agradável.  E desta vez não achei tão insuportável ele ter repetido tantas vezes Sanding Still, como no videoclip oficial.
Mas depois de tantos favoritos terem ficado tão mal classificados, admira-me a boa classificação da Alemanha. Bem, se é verdade que o público gay vota maciçamente na Eurovisão, associado ao público jovem feminino que também deve dar o seu contributo na altura das votações, está explicado algum do sucesso de "Standing Still" (sem tirar qualidades à prestação de Roman Lob).

Malta 21º lugar - 41 pontos: digo quantas vezes forem precisas: todo o esforço em transformar uma música banal e sem nada de novo, num sério candidato trouxe bons resultados. De uma maneira geral Kurt e a sua banda estiveram bem. Aqui está um bom exemplo com quem Portugal teria muito para aprender.
Infelizmente, por mais esforços que fossem feitos, a qualidade mediana da música não dificilmente proporcionaria um lugar cimeiro para Malta.

Antiga República Jugoslava da Macedónia 13º lugar - 71 pontos: apesar de achar a música uma proposta interessante, e reconhecer as qualidades vocais de Kaliopi, não deixei de ficar surpreendido pela classificação da Macedónia. A ausência de muita concorrência nos Balcãs (com a Eslovénia de fora da final e com a baixa performance da Bósnia), as hipóteses de um bom lugar para a Macedónia cresceram bastante.
Como já disse, a música era bem original e que mostrou uma Kaliopi sempre coerente e dona de um bom aparelho vocal, apesar de nos momentos de agitação a terem deixado mais aflita.
A mistura de ritmos poderia ter sido mais bem conseguida, mas o conjunto ficou aceitável.

Irlanda 19º lugar - 46 pontos: os gémeos exóticos estiveram lá: infelizmente deixaram em casa quase tudo de bom que levaram para Dusseldorf o ano passado.
Os "grandes malucos" da noite, seguiram a linha do ano passado é certo, mas com uma música menos original e carismática. Esta música mais "séria" trouxe à tona de água (não fosse o trema deles Waterline) os problemas vocais dos Jedward. O coro foi bem melhor do que o do ano passado, mas ainda assim deixou muito a desejar.
No geral, a performance não desiludiu, mas deixou muito a desejar.

Sérvia 3º lugar - 214 pontos: outro dos grandes vencedores da noite, arrecadou a medalha de bronze, o que não surpreendeu pois quase toda a gente colocou Željko Joksimović no TOP3 da final.
Mais balcânico do que aquilo era impossível. Uma boa voz e uma balada interessante. Que me desculpe a enorme legião de fãs de Željko, mas não consigo perceber tanta euforia em volta deste senhor e desta música.

Ucrânia 15º lugar - 65 pontos: depois do enorme sucesso do ano passado, a Ucrânia caiu para meio da tabela. Gaitana voltou a mostrar o seu carisma e personalidade bem fortes e bem-dispostos.
No entanto, o facto de representar a Ucrânia ajudou a obter uma classificação razoável, face à fraqueza da música.
Foi um momento agradável que transmitiu bastante energia. Todo o trabalho de fundo, foi dos melhores da Eurovisão.

Moldávia 11º lugar - 81 pontos: a noite de actuações acabou com uma música bem-disposta mas, ao contrário da opinião geral, para mim a coreografia arruinou uma música, com um estilo original e bem-disposto.
Mais uma vez, a Moldávia pode agradecer à diáspora (nomeadamente a portuguesa) e à vizinhança.

Quanto à votação, depois de saídos os resultados, as surpresas continuam. Para além dos maus resultados que já referi no caso dos países da Escandinávia (Islândia, Noruega e Dinamarca), grande espanto de muitos, as músicas tidas como as piores desta edição - Montenegro, São Marino e Geórgia - não ficaram nos últimos lugares das semifinais: longe disso!!! São Marino conseguiu o incrível 14º lugar, e Montenegro o não menos incrível 15º lugar (neste último caso a música era bem engraçada, mas a péssima performance destruiu tudo). Até Israel, que trazia uma música que definitivamente não era o género que agradasse aos eurofãs, acabou em 13º lugar. Estes três países conseguiram ficar à frente da Bélgica que, apesar da música fraquinha foi representada pela bela voz da Iris. Concordo com que já disse que a Bélgica continua a participar por desportivismo.
E apesar da qualidade vocal de Rona, o 2º lugar da Albânia na semifinal para mim foi mesmo inesperado.
Já quanto à Geórgia, conseguiu o prodigioso 14º lugar, apenas a 3 pontos de Portugal, e bem à frente da Eslovénia que ficou... em 17º lugar!!! Pelo menos no caso da Suíça, conseguiu ficar em 11º lugar a 7 pontos do 10º classificado, a Hungria.
Estas votações foram mesmo a loucura.

Já quanto à final, o melhor momento para mim foi, claro está, a sucessão de 12 pontos atribuídos à Suécia. Até à votação da Itália mantive a esperança que a Suécia obtivesse o record de todos os países a votarem nela. Mesmo assim, foi óptimo ver que toda a Europa, desde a Rússia até Espanha, Islândia e Irlanda renderam-se à Loreen e sua "Euphoria". E desta vez, apesar de não ter quebrado o record de Alexander Rybak em 2009, os votos tiveram muito mais concentrados na Suécia, que recebeu 12 ponto de mais países, incluindo de todos os seus vizinhos (o que não aconteceu com a Noruega em 2009) e de outros países que em 2009 não atribuíram 12 pontos à Noruega, como França, Bélgica, Irlanda, Reino Unido, Eslováquia e Finlândia.

Mas achei as votações demasiado rápidas e sem emoções nenhumas. Não houve o habitual suspense nem interacção entre os porta-vozes e os apresentadores. Mesmo assim, o melhor porta-voz para mim foi Sarah Dawn Finer, que anunciou os votos suecos e que proporcionou um dos momentos mais hilariantes e bem-dispostos da noite, muito melhor do que em 2009.

Vou então agora comentar a pontuação portuguesa: se pensava que as surpresas iriam ficar pelas actuações, estava redondamente enganado.

1 ponto - Ucrânia: só em 2010 a Ucrânia não recebeu um único ponto e Portugal e, entre 2006 e 2008 Portugal foi o único país que deu sempre 12 pontos a este país de Leste. Por isso, estava a contar que a Ucrânia aparecesse na nossa tabela de pontuações. Como a votação total incluía metade da votação dos júris, acreditava que a Ucrânia não estaria no nosso TOP3, mas nunca pensei que ficasse tão mal colocada. Claro que o facto de a Ucrânia ser dos países a quem damos mais pontos, deve-se em grande parte à grande comunidade de ucranianos que residem em Portugal.
Talvez a baixa pontuação se deva ao facto de muitos ucranianos terem regressado ao seu país, ou terem procurado outros destinos devido à crise que de certo levou a que muitos deles perdessem o emprego.
Além disso, nos anos em que Portugal deu 12 pontos à Ucrânia, acredito que muitos portugueses tenham também votado nas musicas ucranianas, porque de facto todas elas eram concorrentes de peso.

2 pontos - Itália: como já disse antes, desde 1975 que Portugal foi o país que mais pontos deu à Itália. Não acredito que os 10 pontos do ano passado se devessem apenas à comunidade italiana a residir em Portugal, que nem sequer é assim tão considerável.
Esta música agradava muito ao público português, e penso que apenas a performance "pobre", não permitiu que Portugal pontuasse mais a Itália.

3 pontos - Suécia: para mim a surpresa mais desagradável de todas (os 12 pontos à Espanha já não me surpreendem). Os fãs portugueses de uma maneira geral gostavam desta música, e na semifinal Portugal atribuiu a Loreen 10 pontos.
Portugal foi o 2º país, juntamente com São Marino, a dar menos pontos à Suécia.
Sendo optimista, quero acreditar que terá sido o júri a penalizar esta música, já que é hábito ter gostos meio estranhos.

4 pontos - Roménia: tudo o que seja ritmos latinos e bem dançantes agradam ao público português. Já lá vai o tempo em que Portugal, a exemplo de Espanha, pontuava bastante a Roménia. No entanto, a comunidade imigrante ainda permanece. Acredito que tenha sido mais votada pelo público do que pelo júri.

5 pontos - Sérvia: uma balada como esta tinha que receber pontos de Portugal, não fosse o júri apaixonado por baladas.

6 pontos - Moldávia: aplica-se o mesmo argumento dos imigrantes que no caso da Ucrânia. Parece-me que, os moldavos são mais do que os ucranianos, ou votaram mais na sua música, ou teve a ajuda do público português. Não estou a ver o júri a dar mais do que 1 ou 2 pontos a esta música (se é que os deu).

7 pontos - Estónia: fiquei admirado com os 7 pontos dado à Estónia, mas ainda mais com os 12 pontos que demos na semifinal.
Mais uma vez, uma balada que até foi bem cantada e interpretada, tinha que ser pontuada por Portugal. Talvez recebeu mais pontos do júri do que do público.

8 pontos - Rússia: como não podia deixar de ser, Portugal foi na onda bem-disposta de Buranovskiye Babushki, ao ponto de as colocar no TOP3 da pontuação portuguesa. Para receber os 8 pontos, deve ter recebido também pontos do júri, mas acredito que as senhoras russas foram mais pontuadas pelo público.

10 pontos - Alemanha: a grande surpresa positiva da pontuação portuguesa. Depois de termos dado apenas 1 ponto quando ganhou a Eurovisão (Atenção: não estou a dizer que "Satellite" seja melhor ou pior do que "Standing Still") e de não termos pontuado a Alemanha o ano passado quando ficou em 10º lugar, eis que este ano a Alemanha ficou em 2º lugar na votação portuguesa. Não sei se foram os júris ou o televoto que pontuou mais a Alemanha, mas fiquei satisfeito por termos atribuído 10 pontos à Alemanha: Roman Lob bem os merecia, por todas as qualidade que já apontei anteriormente. E esta era uma música também do agrado do público português.

12 pontos- Espanha: se já com a aberração musical do ano passado, Portugal deu 12 pontos à Espanha, este ano com uma música bem melhor a conversa não seria outra.
Portugal está definitivamente no grupo de países como Chipre, Azerbaijão, Turquia, Moldávia, Roménia e Grécia que, não vê as melhores músicas a concurso: vê a Espanha e ponto final.
E só mais uma coisa, engane-se quem tenha o sonho infantil de que se Portugal fosse à final, Espanha nos daria 10 pontos e talvez até 12.
Nem com Vânia ou Flor-de-Lis isso aconteceu, muito menos agora com a concorrência de grandes musicas.



Parabéns à Loreen pela sua prestação, e também por nos ter brindado com frases como esta "Human rights are violated in Azerbaijan every day. One should not be silent about such things." ("Os direitos humanos são violados no Azerbaijão a cada dia. Não se deve ficar em silêncio sobre tais coisas."), que foi a resposta que deu contra os ataques feitos por membros do governo depois de Loreen se ter encontrado com activistas dos direitos humanos que, por acaso eram opositores do actual governo, o que levou ao pedido para a sua eliminação da Eurovisão por estar a violar uma regra disparatada e sem fundamento (talvez o Azerbaijão estivesse a eliminar concorrência para obter a 2ª vitória consecutiva...).
ISTO É QUE  REPRESENTA UMA VERDADEIRA VENCEDORA!!!


E está assim terminada esta maratona de 5 meses em que fui comentando as escolhas de cada país e trazendo outras notícias que iam surgindo.
Para quem já me perguntou onde fui buscar tanta informação, as minhas fontes foram a WIKIPÉDIA e o SITE OFICIAL da Eurovisão, e claro a minha opinião pessoal e tudo o que tenho visto das edições anteriores.
E parece que os leitores aderiram bem ao meu trabalho. No sábado passado (dia 19) nas vésperas de começar a Eurovisão, o total de visualizações do meu blog ultrapassava um pouco as 8 mil visualizações. Hoje de madrugada ultrapassou as 10500 visualizações!!!
Neste momento entre as 10 mensagens mais vistas de sempre, apenas duas não dizem respeito à Eurovisão. E claro que a mais vista de todas é a mensagem com os comentários às escolhas da Suécia e Rússia, que já ultrapassa as 300 visualizações: mas atenção - aqui só estão contabilizadas as pessoas que vão parar directamente à mensagem pelos motores de pesquisa, e não também de quem viu a mensagem depois de estar no blog.
Há quase dois meses que a expressão mais procurada nos motores de pesquisa e que deu acesso a este blog era Tooji Neste momento já foi largamente ultrapassada por loreen euphoria. E a segunda expressão é loreen euphoria cover. Também a expressão eurovision 2012 loreen está entre as 10 palavras que mais acesso deram ao meu blog pelos motores de pesquisa.

Antes de começar a maratona de comentários sobre o Europeu de Futebol, vou fazer uma pausa na introdução de tantas mensagens no meu blog (sim: tenho vida para além disto). E por enquanto vou falar daquilo que está bem na moda: a crise das dívidas soberanas e a China!!! Quanto à Eurovisão, se não acontecer mais nada de extraordinário, regresso em Dezembro quando começarem as escolhas para a edição de 2013. Até lá, deixo a notícia de que já há 14 países confirmados para o ESC2013.

Eurovisão em Baku 2012! (V) WE HAVE A WINNER

EUROPA: TEMOS UM VENCEDOR!!! LOREEN COM A SUA EUPHORIA FOI A RAINHA DA NOITE DE ONTEM!!!!

Loreen foi a rainha da noite e arrasou toda a concorrência - o  público foi praticamente unânime em dar a vitória, justíssima, a "Euphoria"

E não é que as minhas previsões estiveram certas? As grandes ameaças à vitória da Loreen foram a Rússia e a Sérvia!!!! Mas antenção: não quero com isto dizer que merecessem ser essas ameaças.

Eu sempre tentei ser imparcial, mas como disse AQUI, o 2º lugar era muito pouco para esta verdadeira obra-prima. A Loreen teve ontem o que merecia: uma vitória esmagadora para uma performance, que só arranjo uma maneira de a descrever - perfeita do princípio ao fim. Infelizmente, a Suécia não tem muitos motivos para agradecer a Portugal. Mas em relação à vergonhosa votação portuguesa voltarei mais adiante.

Sendo completamente apaixonado por esta música e performance, sofri bastante com os enormes problemas que a Loreen sofreu nos ensaios, incluindo no ensaio geral de ontem onde se engasgou com um floco de neve num dos momentos mais importantes da música, e todas as críticas negativas que caíram sobre Loreen, sendo mesmo o que mais me chocou, a reacção ao facto de a Loreen não ter seguido o protocolo oficial proposto pela EBU de fazer uma visita guiada com membros do Governo azeri, optando antes por visitar um abrigo para mulheres com necessidade de vários tipos de apoio. Segundo o que ela disse, se tivesse ficado em Marrocos estaria como a sua prima de 13 anos, casada com um homem de 40. Isto não caiu muito bem em muitos estômagos, ao ponto de chegarem a surgir boatos da possível eliminação da Suécia da grande final. Só tenho uma coisa a dizer a quem se indignou com esta atitude "rebelde" de Loreen: a inveja pode não matar, mas faz mal à saúde!

Mas voltemos à performance da Loreen: para mim foi só na final que a Loreen do Melodifestivalen esteve de volta. O problema de rouquidão que para mim foi bem visível na semifinal (nem sei como conseguiu o 1º lugar na semifinal), estava praticamente resolvido, apenas se notando o grande esforço que Loreen fez no final da performance para conseguir chegar às partes mais difíceis da música, mas que conseguiu chegar muito bem.
As câmeras estiveram muito melhor, e conseguiram, juntamente com o jogo de luzes conseguiu criar o ambiente mais envolvente que se queria para este tipo de música.

Quanto à votação, tenho pena que Loreen não tenha quebrado o record de Alexander Rybak em 2009 pela Noruega, em número de pontos (mas foi uma margem pouco significativa - 15 pontos), já que Loreen arrecadou desta vez mais 12 pontos de cada país do que Alexander Rybak (18 contra 16). Infelizmente, não fosse a votação de Itália que foi o único país que não deu um único ponto à Suécia, e Loreen teria se juntado à (pequena) lista de países que conseguiram pontos de todos os países.

E como esta mensagem se está a tornar demasiado grande, apenas vou deixar aqui os meus comentários à primeira metade dos finalistas da noite de ontem.

Cerimónia de abertura: comecemos mesmo pelo início. A cerimónia de abertura teve a sua graça mas não foi nada de especial. Gostei das bailarinas tradicionais e dos bailarinos de preto: mostraram mesmo a cultura azeri. Já quanto à pequena actuação dos vencedores do ano passado, deixou-me mesmo com a ideia de que faltava algo mais: foi uma prestação muito pobre.
E já que estou a falar dos vencedores do ano passado, sendo um deles apresentador, vou falar dessas três personagens. Foi notória a falta de experiência e profissionalismo dos apresentadores. Nunca vi um anúncio dos finalistas tão desinteressante, e a sua falta de à-vontade era notória, apesar de terem melhorado das semifinais para a final.

Reino Unido 25º lugar - 12 pontos: o Reino Unido apresentou-nos um tema peculiar, num estilo bem clássico que transportou os espectadores para a Eurovisão de outros tempos, mas que poderia ter muito mais energia e vivacidade. Toda a música esteve num ritmo e melodia bastante monótonos.
Como já tinha dito na mensagem em que comentei a escolha do Reino Unido, não conseguia mesmo prever o destino de Engelbert Humperdinck na Eurovisão. Certamente que não iria agradar muito ao público, mas no caso dos júris a história poderia ser outra. No entanto, a canção inglesa não agradou a quase ninguém, colocando o Reino Unido em penúltimo lugar. Desde 2008 que a participação do Reino Unido é uma verdadeira montanha-russa. Último lugar (25º) em 2008, um honroso 5º lugar em 2009, novamente um último lugar (25º) em 2010, um 11º lugar o ano passado e novamente este ano um mau resultado (penúltimo lugar). Já não é novidade para ninguém que a BBC anda a fazer todos os esforços para que o Reino Unido acolha de novo a Eurovisão. A mim parece-me que gostam de fazer um intervalo entre cada boa aposta.

Hungria 24º lugar - 19 pontos: depois da desilusão do ano passado com tanto favoritismo em volta de Kati Wolf, a participação de Compact Disco não trouxe tantas expectativas para este país do leste. É uma banda  com um estilo interessante que trouxe uma música com uma das mensagens mais ricas deste ano. Foram enormes os progressos do vocalista desde a final nacional e até desde os ensaios. No entanto, não me surpreendeu: foram competentes mas nada mais.
Não concordo com quem defende que a Suíça devia ter passado em vez da Hungria: deviam ter passado ambos.

Albânia 5º lugar - 146 países: a grande surpresa da noite foi mesmo a Albânia. Quando foi anunciado que Rona Nishliu iria representar a Albânia, quase todos os fãs colocaram a sua música nos últimos lugares. No entanto, depois da divulgação do vídeo oficial, as opiniões começaram a mudar drasticamente. É óbvio que os júris gostaram bastante desta música, e para obter o 5º lugar certamente que o público também votou bastante nesta música.
Realmente algumas partes da música podiam ser demasiado histéricas, mas Rona conseguiu aguentar-se e passou bem na afinação.
Estando sozinha em palco, todo o seu carisma foi transmitido para o público, e a performance geral foi muito bem conseguida.

Lituânia 14º lugar - 70 pontos: outra das grandes surpresas desta edição. Longe de ser das mais favoritas para os eurofãs, acabou por se qualificar em 3º lugar e acabar a meio da tabela. Foi uma música curiosa, mas nada que me despertasse muito interesse.
No entanto, reconheço o esforço que o cantor fez para enriquecer esta música. Por mais que visse sob diferentes perspectivas, a performance depois do cantor ter tirado a venda, parecia muito mais de um comediante do que de um cantor num concurso musical. Mas isso, claro que trouxe um certo carisma à música.

Bósnia-Herzegovina 18º lugar - 55 pontos: nao sei se Maya Sar é religiosa, mas bem pode agradecer a todos os santos e mais algum por estar a representar a Bósnia, porque se estivesse a representar outro país sem o peso de voto que a Bósnia exerce, era logo corrida para o último lugar da semifinal. Era uma das minhas músicas preferidas dos balcãs (juntamente com a Eslovénia), mas a sua performance desiludiu-me muito. É verdade que não era uma balada muito profunda, mas o palco e a performance de Maya Sar foram  demasiado simpes e monótonos.

Rússia 2º lugar - 259 pontos: digam o que disserem, foram das Divas da noite! Apesar de isto ser um concurso de música e apesar dos problemas vocais que tinham, sobretudo na final (notava-se o cansaço do grupo), foi o momento mais animado da noite!!! Já que não pude contar também com a anaimação ds Áustria, contentei-me com este grupo de senhoras que caíram nas boas graças tanto do público como dos júris, ao terem ficado em 1º lugar na semifinal e terem conseguido o 2º lugar na final. Acredito que se não tivéssemos a Loreen, ou se a votação apenas se baseasse no voto do público, poderiam perfeitamente ter ganho a Eurovisão.
Apesar de todo o carinho que estas senhoras pudessem transmitir, a verdade é que isto deveria ser acima de tudo um concurso de música, e houve melhores vozes que foram muito penalizadas devido a este grupo. E convenhamos: se estivessem a representar outro país com menos poder de influência do voto, provavelmente nem da semifinal sairiam.

Islândia 20º lugar - 46 pontos: para mim foi uma das surpresas negativas da noite. A Islândia foi apontada como uma das fortes candidatas à vitória e estava entre as minhas favoritas. A performance foi soberba e digna de uma banda sonora de um filme.
Achei as críticas sobre a falta de carisma de Greta Salóme e a baixa qualidade da sua performance exageradas. Talvez alguma falta de emotividade do Jón Jósep, deve ter prejudicado as hipóteses da Islândia.
Mereciam muito mais do que o 20º lugar.

Chipre 16º lugar - 65 pontos: outro país tido como um dos favoritos à vitória, e um dos 10 mais votados pelas associações da OGAE, acabou a meio da tabela.
Achei Ivi mais à vontade e a sua voz esteve mais de acordo com a tonalidade da música do que na semifinal. Foi mais agradável de ser ouvir, mas os problemas vocais mantiveram-se. Por isso, recebeu certamente mais apoio do público do que dos júris.

França 22º lugar - 21 pontos: outra surpresa negativa da noite, pois a França também foi altamente pontuada pelas OGAEs. Parabéns à Anggun pela bela voz e carisma que manteve durante toda a música. Infelizmente, notou-se que estava nervosa e a voz saiu tremida em partes mauito importantes da música.
E uma nota mesmo negativa às vozes do coro: durante quase toda a música pareciam vozes robotizadas. E acabei por não gostar da participação dos ginastas.

Itália 9º lugar - 101 pontos: outra desilusão, apesar de não ter grande como as anteriores, se bem que a Itália para mim merecia um lugar pior do que o que obteve. Foi a 2ª mais votada pelas OGAEs e tinha tudo para agradar aos júris e agradar mais ao público do que a música que a Itália trouxe o ano passado. Nina Zilli e o coro estiveram muito melhor do que o ano passado. Conseguiram transmitir a mensagem da música. Mas tudo o resto foi péssimo: poderiam ter aproveitado a imagem de fundo e o resto do palco para enriquecer com vários elementos já que a música permitia isso.

Estónia 6º lugar - 120 pontos: Outra surpresa da noite, neste caso pela positiva. A Estónia conseguiu assim a desforra pela injustiça que sofreu o ano passado. Otto esteve uma afinação praticamente perfeita. A exemplo da Albânia foi uma música envolvente. Um ponto negativo para a senhora que fez voz de coro.
Nada mais de especial a acrescentar.

Noruega 26º lugar - 7 pontos:  a maior surpresa negativa da noite. Tooji foi altamente pontuado pelas OGAEs e tido como um forte candidato ao TOP5 pela maioria das casas de apostas. Não consigo perceber o último lugar da final, e também o 10º lugar na semifinal. Aliás, na semifinal teve os mesmos pontos que a Bulgária (duas performances que jamais se podem igualar), e Tooji só se qualificou graças aos critérios de desempate.
Penso que a constante comparação com Eric Saade que representou a Suécia o ano passado (comparação essa exagerada), deve ter levado tanto os júris como o público a penalizarem aquilo que julgaram ser uma imitação de Eric. Mesmo assim, não justifica o baixo resultado que a Noruega obteve: é que nem os vizinhos da Escandinávia o ajudaram: apenas a Islândia, a Suécia e a Holanda deram pontos à Noruega.
Confesso que antes dos resultados das votações me ocorreu que poderia acontecer a Tooji o mesmo que aconteceu a Alexey Vorobyov, o representante russo do ano passado: 7º lugar no televoto, mas último lugar  nos júris. Mas vejo que o caso norueguês foi bem pior.
O baixo resultado quase de certeza se deve aos júris, mas estou ansioso para ver em que lugar ficou no televoto.

Azerbaijão 4º lugar - 150 pontos: para mim uma das grandes surpresas positivas da noite. Já pelo vídeoclip oficial era possível constatar que Sabina é dona de uma grande voz e enorme beleza. E ontem à noite não desiludiu ninguém. Todos os outros elementos em palco também estiveram bem.
Performance muito carismática e envolvente, com um final apoteótico mas, ao contrário de outros, não foi exagerado.

The host country, for me has been one of the big positive surprises of the rehearsals.. The official video clearly shows that Sabina has a great vocal tract, and she could reflect very well on stage. Their presence and charisma are enough to fill the stage and carry listeners into the spirit of music.

The last two members of Big5 to perform are Spain soon followed by Germany. I confess that Pastora on stage shows their good vocal and performance, but the truth is that the music is nothing special: on the contrary, is a music very similar to many others who have been through Eurovision. I can not understand much cronyism around this music. Still should reverse the terrible results that Spain has achieved in recent years.

The latter from Big5 to act will be Germany. A good song on the American style, but with a very simple and relaxed performance, which ultimately does not take brilliance or the song nor to the singer. I can not guarantee that he will get the same success that Lena Meyer-Landrut, but deserves a good final ranking.

For the rest of the finalists, everything is open. Apart from Russia, we expect big surprises for the Balkans and the countries of Scandinavia.
