Eurovision in Baku 2012! (II)

It is tomorrow that begins the 57th edition of Eurovision. Gone are the preliminary rehearsals, and will begin the dress rehearsals.

And still the controversies and problems of security and organization.
After the pirate attacks on the sites eurovisionaz.com and esctoday.com, not sign more serious problems, but it does mean that we can breathe a sigh of relief that the worst is over.
The worst is to come tomorrow, when the event start.

The lack of organization was great in "Opening Reception Party" with delays in receiving and restrictions (not advised) to the VIP area and food and beverages, which led some delegations to leave the party early.

Another novelty is the change in place of the green room to the center of the public.

Overview of the location will hold the Eurovision 2012

Leaving these problems aside, I will now present some defeated from some festivals national selection, and I think that also represent their country as well (do not say they could get a better ranking than those chosen).

Hungary: Gábor Heincz - "Learning to let go"

Denmark: Jesper Nohrstedt - "Take our hearts"

Austria: Conchita Wurst - "That's What I Am"

Malta: Claudia Faniello - "Pure"

Finland: Ville eetvartti - "Lasikaupunki"

Ukraine: Max Barskih - "Dance"

Netherlands: Pearl Jozefzoon "We can overcome"

Slovenia: Nika eva Prusnik "Konichiwa"

Switzerland: Chiara Dubey "Anima nuova"

This just proves that the Eurovision is full of quality songs that fail to participate in the contest. And we can not please everyone.

Eurovision: walking to Baku 2012! (XX)

Finally I will write my final comments on two neighboring countries: Portugal and Spain.

PORTUGAL AND FILIPA SOUSA
As previously warned, all the songs present in the "Festival da Canção" this year had as inspiration in the fado, to mark the elevation of fado to an Intangible Heritage of Humanity. And it brought with it, advantages and disadvantages. Or rather, I believe that must have brought benefits, despite not seeing any. As for the disadvantages,  for me the worst was the fact that, as were the performances of four blocks without any gap between them, it was impossible for most performances, can distinguish from each other. It did not take long for a dip monotony without finding any feature that made me choose a song or another. Of course not I include all the songs, just overwhelming.

Another negative aspect that I have already noted that, it was the gloomy aspect of this year. I've noticed that the fado is very easily associated with nostalgia and melancholy, but then to give a touch so dark ... took off much luster to the festival.

The last performance of the night earned the victory on the part of juries and the televoting: was the first time since there was that voting system.
In fact, was the best of the night. The melody was not the most predominant in relation to the other, but the interpretation of the singer and his vocal qualities have provided some quality music.
It's a song that easily can be heard on the radio, more than 90 years now.
The dramatic touch is that it was too much.

Was there any music that deserves to represent Portugal in the Eurovision and brought him a high rating (which in Portugal means at least stay in the TOP20 in the final)? Obviously not: this was the best choice (along with others who might have done).
Serve comfort us, the beauty of the singer that can attract the votes of the public who have not realized that the Eurovision is above all a music festival.

The passage will depend primarily on the international juries. And indeed, this song will certainly please the judges more than the public.

Spain and Pastoral Soler
It should be noted here the route so peculiar that Spain has done in the contest, out of their performances. If there is country that has enjoyed its status as a member of BIGFive to do as it pleases, without giving any importance to any violation of rules, this country is undoubtedly Spain.
Come by 2009. Even being directly in the final, all members of the then BIGFour are forced to live coverage of at least one semifinal, and vote on it. The whole process of allocation of each participant and each voter for the two semifinals is done early in the very year in which the Festival takes place to avoid any embarrassment or unforeseen.

Well, it was agreed at the time that Spain would vote in the first semifinal, where participated Portugal and Andorra.
However, for reasons that only this country know, much later they would eventually change their vote for the other semifinal because of the broadcast of a documentary about Eurovision (which was not live, but it had to be "necessarily" transmitted to the time of the first semifinal!!). So logically that would have to broadcast and vote in second semifinal. It turns out that the Spanish broadcaster responsible for transmitting the Eurovision had scheduled A LONG TIME AGO, the live broadcast of the tennis tournament "Madrid Open." Thus, the second semi-final was broadcast with a delay of 66 minutes, with only the vote of the jury.

A spokesman for the delegation of Andorra was quick to say that all this was nothing more than a strategy of Spain to prevent the country attibute points both to Portugal and Andorra, and thus tehy might not be able to pass the final and so would be at least less two obstacles to the success of the Spanish music. He said Andorra did not need the 12 points from Spain to pass to final. And in fact he hit, even though Spain had given Andorra the 12 points, Andorra could not pass the final.

It is true that this may seem like a "persecution mania" by Andorra and even Portugal, whose delegation also protested against these decisions and counter decisions of Spain. But the truth is that until today Spain did not give any reason to justify it's attitude.
Fortunately, in the final that year, there was an almost total boycott by the international juries to Spanish music (which earned the part of juries only 25th place with 9 points), as a protest against the behavior of Spain.
Indeed, also felt a little in the televoting, because only in Portugal, the Spanish song was the most voted. It's true: while Andorra has given the 12 points to Spain, it was also thanks to the jury (which would probably have some Spanish as members of the jury, and perhaps Portuguese - who are concerned first with the success of Spain -), because the 12 points from the televoting were to ... Portugal (which is not punctuated by the members of the jury, would come to receive only 6 points).

The day after the final of 2009, was published in the newspaper "El Mundo" that RTVE (the Spanish broadcaster that broadcasts Eurovision), got these problems and the delay in transmitting the second semifinal on purpose to avoid that Spain won because , would not be able to host the 2010 edition in Spain. Well .. such humility and lack of presumption ... left me momentarily speechless. This is a unique case that deserves to be a milestone in the history of Eurovision: a country that before starting the competition is sure to win and will do everything to prevent this happening.

This year, even during the month of March, Spain had already appointed their own. Even the music had not won the Swedish Melodifestivalen, and had already been used in Spain in an ad promoting a new season of Gossip Girl Series. Obviously this is a serious violation of the rules on the use of songs that are in a contest, and that obviously can not be used outside the context of the program.

The last time I read something about this, Sweden was considering a move action against Telecinco. Indeed, perhaps the habit of using and abusing Portugal to its beautiful-pleasure, that Spain has made judge he could do whatever he wanted for whatever country was.

As for music of this year, is undoubtedly better than those that the country led previously to the festival (though I do not remember the last year in which Spain took a minimally acceptable song to Eurovision - must have been before I was born), with a singer with a strong and reasonably powerful voice.

Good luck to both countries!

Eurovision in rotta verso Baku 2012

San Marino e Valentina Monetta

Eurovision in Baku 2012! (I)

The final of Eurovision will take place precisely in a week. And the rehearsals have started at full speed!
I'll leave the deepest comments to the dress rehearsal.
However, I will make some brief comments to what I've seen. The more positive surprises are Iceland (who never stops surprising me positively, even though the language changed to English), Denmark, Switzerland, Norway and Cyprus and, although not among the favorites for the final TOP10, Belarus who is willing to have a remarkable performance.

For the more "controversial" cases more - Albania, Austria, Georgia, Montenegro, Israel and Russia - that are both loved and hated ( here there is no middle ground), in general are to submit a performance ... worthy ... of such great songs.
And it seems that for Russia the rumors are even true: during the performance of the group Buranovskiye Babushki the oven we saw in the Russian festival, will cook a cake that according to rumors, will be distributed among the other competitors! !

Loreen and Euphoria:
Loreen and her "Euphoria" endure as the big favorite of this year
I really have to pay special attention to the big favorite for the majority of gambling sites, and the winner of the OGAE votes: Loreen.
With so much favoritism, great expectations were soon around the rehearsalss. And it seems that the first rehearsal, even being the first, made very eurofas very disappointed.

It's true that it was the first rehearsal, and that nobody is forced to show everything, either in this or in any other rehearsal. But it's almost impossible not to be disappointed with what happened in the first rehearsal of Loreen.
It was known that the singer and her dancers were accompanied by a chorus - as always happens in these cases, to remedy the problems of discord and reinforce the corner in the more complicated parts - the truth is that a song like this that is so focused on singer, a bad dose of the provision choir can throw everything away.

In the second rehearsal, we noticed a big difference. It really seems that the first rehearsal served to Loreen and the other members on stage, try this same stage. In this second rehearsal, the performance was almost complete, still not listening very much the choir.
Of course after the performance in Melodifestivalen, many of the changes may seem strange to the public.

Eurovision and LGBT culture: now I will speak with the news that grieves me most at this time. Already before he had mentioned here that there is a strong link between Eurovision and LGBT culture, to the point of considering  Eurovision the biggest gay parade in the world, although I'm not even in this matter, not quite understand this connection.
And on this basis, it seems that Islamic extremists in Azerbaijan are to take seriously his threats to create chaos during the contest. Based on phrases like "What do gay men bring to Azerbaijan? What will happen to Azeri families after the gay parade? There is no place for immoral gays in Azerbaijan, there is no place for homosexuals who seems animals," the sites esctoday.com and eurovisionaz.com were brutally hacked to the point where the sites were completely emptied of all the information and no longer exist - this time only the pages of facebook is there.

The case of esctoday.com is more serious since there were 12 years of constant work from January to December every year - that made this site one of the international reference sites on about Eurovision - who were lost.
Also the site oikotimes suffered this attack, but managed to hold on to the server change.

And the funny thing is that this attack by Azerbaijani hackers happened precisely in the World Dayagainst Homophobia. But violence does not seem to stop here: the cases of aggression to foreign civilians even begin to worry about some fans who have lost the will to watch the festival live.

Despite of that, Artur Rasizade, the Azerbaijani prime minister, says there is no cause for great concern because, as he said, "We have not received serious threats, so we believe that everything happens within the normal range."

In the message on the withdrawal of Armenia from this year (by the way, is still waiting for the sanctions that Armenia will receive the late withdrawal), I complained about the air sometimes cynical that many countries in trouble, and do not talk about problems economic, but social problems, bad political regimes and even violent internal conflicts, present themselves in the contest as if all was well, and were to represent a paradise on earth.

For my part, despite these attacks do not have human victims, we are facing a very serious crime and unbearable these days in the world called "developed".

To finish just one question: Will all these computer criminals will know that it is true that more than half the audience to vote in this contest is gay, it was these same gays they hate so much that gave victory to Azerbaijan? Or they even didn't want Azerbaijan to participate in Eurovision?

Eurovisão em Baku 2012 (I)

MADE IN CHINA (II)

- o plano 1 com o objectivo de repensar a política social, dará ênfase à necessidade da prosperidade para todos os indivíduos, qualquer que seja a região ou a classe social, ao mesmo tempo que são criados programas de acompanhamento das situações de desemprego urbano (a nova forma de instabilidade que está a assolar a China);
- o plano 2, com o objectivo de criar uma Nova Sociedade Rural, irá começar por resolver o problema das disputas de terra (quase todas entre o Governo e os privados), bem como um acompanhamento mais próximo das populações rurais e das suas necessidades, visto que foram as mais negligenciadas pelo êxodo rural e pelo aumento da dimensão e das actividades das cidades;

. Poupança de energia;
. Estabelecimento de um sistema de saúde pública;
. Estabelecimento de um Sistema de protecção e preservação do ambiente;
. Estabelecimento de um Sistema Nacional de Ensino;

Eurovisão 2012: Portugal em Baku (I)
