Eurovision: walking to Baku 2012! (VII)

Further analyzes of the choices this year, following the analysis of two countries.

LATVIA AND ANMARY
Continuing in the eastern countries, I now analyze the first Baltic country to choose their representation. Latvia has been more a case of extremes in Eurovision: started well (3rd place), followed by a poor result (18th place). The following year had it's first and so far only victory. After that, beyond the 5th place in 2005, Latvia has not achieved some great ratings, inclusively the last place in the semifinals in 2009 and 2010.

The choice of this year falls on the singer Anmary, 31 years old (as she refers in music by saying she was born in the distant 1980), with a song with a title very suggestive "Beautiful Song." The music is very tetatral, which is usually common in songs of this country.

The melody, the lyrics and interpretation have comic overtonesNot being a song that calls too much attention and can raise many points, was undoubtedly the best choice possible. The 2nd place, artists Samanta Tīna & Dāvids Kalandija, with the song "I Want You Back," is also very theatrical, but was a ballad soon be lost in the midst of competition.
It is a pleasant music to hear, although not the kind that sit well with eurofãs. As the singer, has an average voice but in tune and is very expressive: I was more relaxed about the problem it seems to have eyes - after all it seems like a medical problem!

Countries since 2004 tend to give more points to Latvia, this year there shall vote only in the same semifinal in which it is present, Ireland, Denmark and Israel (but the latter two are the 8th and 9th place respectively in the list of 10 countries that have more points to Latvia).

But once again the jury may bring surprises in the final hours of passage.

GEORGIA AND ANRI JOKHADZE
I confess that Georgia has gone a bit to the side in the contest. And maybe a lot of people also, since it has, in neighborhood some of the giants of Eurovision. I am referring of course to Armenia, Azerbaijan and Turkey. But since entering the participation, Georgia has been reasonably good: the worst place was the 12th in his debut year (2007) and the best one, the 9th place in both 2010 and 2011, but getting more points in 2010 (year he obtained the 3rd place in the semifinal).

In 2010, the 9th place was achieved mainly thanks to juries (4th place by the jury and 9th by televoting) and 2011 was due to televoting (8th place by televoting and 16th by juries). Personally I liked much of the performance of Georgia in 2010 - was arguably his best performance ever and one of the best in the final: all the theatricality attributed to a song that, as ballad, could not give a good chance this type of provision , turned out to be a very original and captivating performance.

Now I want to turn to the choice of this year, and this is where things get complicated! The choice fell on the artist Anri Jokhadze 21 years who will interpret the theme "I'm a Joker" and honestly could not be more appropriate. I have always sought to analyze the choices of each country, basing myself in music genre and thereby assess the interpretation, vocal qualities, and eventually the letter or other details.

Well, in the case of Georgia it seems that have to review my paradigm!

I confess that for me it was the choose most unexpected of all (at least so far). The live interpretation to select the representation was very confused, with unexpected changes in rhythm and intensity of the music that made me a little impression on my ears. I had to hear the studio version in order to form a better opinion, because every time I heard the live version, it was very painful for me. The studio version is much more bearable. However, I have my serious doubts whether the provision of Georgia this year will not go along with the international juries.

Until now, the choice of Georgia has received more negative evaluations and has received more negative votes on youtube. But not everything seems to be lost: in this semifinal will vote almost all countries that tend to give more points to Georgia - Lithuania, Ukraine, Belarus, and although minor, Turkey. Certainly, in the televoting Georgia should not be in last place. The same can not sbe saying with certainty in relation to many juries.

I think the problem here is not the intention nor the letter of music: not only was well done (getting far from it).

One of the reasons for the selection be made months before the festival is precisely for each country can improve the most of their choice.
Good luck for both countries!!!
