Eurovision: walking to Baku 2012! (VIII)

After the deadline for each country to submit its representation to the Eurovision, I still make my comments to the rhythm that I can!

SLOVENIA AND EVA BOTO

Slovenia is another very special case in the contest. Sometimes they send musics with weak hypotheses to pass to Final and get a good ranking. But when a song has weight, It’s really has weight: a great voice, excellent music and excellent interpretation. Unfortunately, despite the passage to final in these, classification is same very unfair. And here I am obviously referring to the performances of 2007 and 2011 which, no doubt, deserved a better place in the final because in these years Slovenia had some of the best voices of Eurovision.
This year Slovenia back to invest in a female voice, and will be represented by singer Eva Dolphin, only 16 years old, who will interpret the theme "Verjamem."
Again we have a powerful voice with high-quality (which is more surprising because she was only 16 years old). Like last year, this song should please quite the international juries. In fact, although it is a ballad, it is easy to see the soul that the artist and accompanying the choir lay in music.
As in previous years, the choice of the Slovenian representative was made through the EMA, which includes a series of rounds (Slovenia is one of the countries with a selection of more complex systems and it lasts longer, because the regional hearings have already begun in two October of last year).
As for the 2nd place, double Dvojčici Prusnik brought a song indeed very hilarious and with a spirit very relaxed. On the one hand did not bring the emotion and sentimentality of the winning song, second song is a lighter and that the public remembers more easily.
But Slovenia has not had much success in the televoting, which is sometimes incomprehensible (as I mentioned).
So it is the best choice that Slovenia could have done.

How could it be, Slovenia is among the countries that resulted from the disintegration of Yugoslavia countries who received more votes were precisely its Balkan neighbors. Interestingly, with the exception of Montenegro, they will all be present in the same semifinal: the 2nd.
On the one hand this is good, because Slovenia has with various countries that may give you hope, the truth is that the fact that the Balkan countries vote each other, will surely disperse far the votes, unless they focus every one or two countries (which does not seem the case) which cannot ensure passage of all the final.
I really liked this choice!

FINLAND AND PERNILLA KARLSSON
If Finland did not win in 2006, this country would be getting the title of the country for more time to participate in the contest without winning once, instead of Portugal.
But despite the victory of 2006 has raised for the country the record of victory with the highest number of points, which was exceeded only by Norway in 2009, the truth is that Finland has several ratings in its history and even in last place with zero points (more than Portugal).
Outside the victory in 2006, the highest score was a 6 th place. And in the periods between 1976-1983 and 1990-2002 the participation of Finland was constantly guided by very weak.

This year Finland brings us a ballad, performed by the singer, 21 years old, Pernilla Karlsson entitled "Nar Jag Blundar." It is the first song in the Eurovision sung in Swedish since 1998.
As for direct competition, the 2nd place would also be an interesting choice (despite the fall of the microphone!): the band Ville Eetvartti  with the theme "Lasikaupunki." In fact, I think it would be an even better choice: a music more appealing to a younger audience (who vote more often in the contest) and an energy that holds us to the music.
Returning to the winner, although not a big fan of music, I must highlight the message and emotional richness of the music as well as the whole environment that was created during the performance in the national final: could captivate an audience throughout the performance.
Finland is another case of an performance that will certainly please the judges.
In the same semifinal with Finland, will be present few countries that tend to give it more votes, only Iceland, Denmark and Spain (but Estonia, Sweden and Norway are even those with the most votes tend to give to Finland, this year will be in the other semifinal). So once again the voting of the juries will be very important for the final passage of Finland.

Good luck to both countries!!!
